Week 1 – Work begins…

Work started last week on my terrace house for what will be a 10-11 month building program.

The house was substantially renovated in the early 1970’s, removing all but a few original features of the house. The house has only 2 Bedrooms, outdated kitchen and bathrooms, leaking floors, walls and bad indoor/outdoor flow – it will have a total re-build, apart from the original front and side walls.

The proposed works will be a new rear wing and a full renovation of the existing principal building form of the terrace house. Over 6 levels, 3 at the front and 3 at the rear, there will be 3 bedrooms each with an adjacent bathroom, new steel framed stair, new kitchen/dining room with polished concrete floors opening onto a terrace above the garage.

Week one and two have seen the back half of the house demolished.
